Joan Austin, Mrs Harry Gordon, was a Music Teacher in Saltcoats, Ayrshire. She had four children, Janice, Barbara, Alexander and Suzy.

A well-loved and talented musician, Joan was the Organist and Choir Leader at St Cuthbert's Church on Campbell Avenue in Saltcoats for almost 40 years from 1979. For 31 years she was an Elder of the church. Joan was involved in fundraising concerts for the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Rotary Club.

Helen was a Music Teacher, born in Edinburgh on 12th October, second eldest of 10 children: Elizabeth (born 1830), Mary Ann (1833), Thomson Paul (1834), Alexander Fletcher (1836), Ann Paul (1838), John (1839), Susan Carter (1842), Sophia Sarah ((1843), Robert Wingfield (1846). Their parents were John Acquroff, a Hairdresser of Russian ancestry (a naturalised British subject), and Sophia Campbell Fletcher from Ardelach, Nairn.

At the 1841 Census the family were living at 8 Muse Lane.

Jessie was born Janet Bett on 5th February, 1870 at Burnside, Auchtermuchty, Cupar, Fife, Scotland. Her parents were James Bett, a Gas Manager, and Janet Roger(married 21.11.1851 at Burntisland).

The name Jessie is a derivative of Janet in Scotland and is synonymous with it.

Jessie was 26 when she married 48 year old Charles Grubb, a Grocer and Wine Merchant, on 15th June, 1896 at Don's Bank, Auchtermuchty. His parents were Charles Maitland Grubb, a Porter and Farmer at different times, and Maria Watson Gardiner.
